About Me

Howdy!

Well I thought it would be only proper to write a few lines about myself and how this blog came to be and indeed how I've ended up in India in the first place. So my name is Arlene, I am from Ireland & this is my first personal blog.

After years and years and then a few more of working in the world of online I recently made a very big (& quite scary) decision to leave it all behind me and travel to Jaipur City in Rajasthan India to take part in a Street Children Education program. The program offers a basic education to displaced children that roam the streets and I will be working as a volunteer teacher with children aged between 4 and 8 years old. This is something that I have always wanted to get involved with so I feel really lucky to be in a position to have the time & opportunity to do it.

Me on my last day at work in Google

When I complete my volunteer work my plan is to travel around India for a few months & soak up the rich culture & history of this unique country which has always fascinated me. I decided to set up this blog to keep in touch with everyone back home but also to record all of my experiences & adventures so I won't forget them in years to come.

I really hope you enjoy the read. Please pass on my blog to anyone you think might find it interesting and please do leave comments, I love getting feedback (-:

Namaste!

Arlene
